Norcross Corp. (Newton, Mass.) has introduced the MP2000, a single-loop viscosity and pH controller for use with adhesives, coatings and other liquids. The viscosity controller has 60 settings to accommodate solvent- or water-based products and level control. It also provides field-selectable on/off or proportion control and password-protected programming. Offered with or without pH control, the device can be recalibrated while operating, offers two-way mixing to thin or thicken the material or add amine, and has RS485 communications. The device can display “piston time-of-fall” seconds or other units, such as Zahn or Shell Cup seconds or centipoise. Standard features include a sealed keypad, NEMA-4X enclosure (6.2 inch/157 mm by 3.4 inch/86 mm), field-selectable control and alarm bandwidth, high- and low-viscosity alarm outputs and battery backup.
