Reichhold (Research Triangle Park, N.C.) recently introduced HYDREX 100-LV (33600 series), a low-styrene, 100 percent vinyl ester resin, developed for boatbuilding and spa applications. The resin reportedly provides excellent blister resistance while helping fabricators meet MACT regulations. It is pre-accelerated, formulated for desired thixotropic behavior and cures with standard methyl ethyl ketone peroxide (MEKP-9). The resin is designed for use as a skin coat and/or laminating resin for boats, spas or tooling.
