The new Manual Tip-Seal Kiss dispense valve, developed by Sealant Equipment & Engineering Inc. (Plymouth, Mich.), is designed to dispense low- to high-viscosity single-component adhesives and sealants, such as silicone or polyurethane materials. The valve is intended for use in repetitive fluid-dispensing applications in which operators dispense short segments or long beads of material. When the trigger is pulled, the dispense controller starts the dispense cycle by opening the valve. The controller can be set to permit the operator to manually close the valve, for visual dispensing, or to automatically close the valve after the dispensing system delivers a precision-metered volume of material. The valve opens and closes the material passage at the tip of the nozzle to start and stop material flow. The Tip-Seal valve is equipped with a durable carbide tip, a titanium-coated shaft, a hardened seat and wear-resistant fluid seals. The valve’s pistol grip assembly has a reportedly rugged trigger guard and features a foam grip for added operator comfort.
