Goodfellow Corp. (Oakdale, Pa.) has introduced a new ultrathin (0.006-mm/0.00024-inch) amorphous PEEK film that offers high-temperature resistance; good flexural, tensile and electrical properties; durability and scratch resistance; resistance to chemicals, abrasion, hydrolysis and radiation; and inherently low flammability. The film can be thermoformed, laminated without the use of adhesives and heat-sealed. Potential applications include flexible PCBs, aircraft interiors, automotive gaskets, leading-edge helicopter rotor blades, copy machine components and items used in aerospace and radiation environments.
