Flow International Corp. (Kent, Wash., USA) has introduced the JetPlex pump, designed for use with ultrahigh-pressure waterjet system. It's made to run 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Reported benefits include: Reduced wear and tear on pump components since less energy is wasted as transferred heat to a hydraulic system; better edge quality on parts and faster cutting speeds; less power and water consumed per horsepower of output; good reliability and minimal maintenance. The JetPlex uses Flow’s Automatic Control Valve (Pac-V) to ensure quick reaction when changing operating pressure or opening and closing the flow of water through the cutting nozzle. Pac-V also allows the use of a range of orifice sizes.
