ASG (Cleveland, Ohio) has made available two new series of digital torque testers called the HP-Series portable testers and the HDP-Series of testers. They work with all screwdrivers, both electric and manual, except those with impact clutches. The testers provide on-the-spot calibration, with maximum, minimum and average torque readings. Torque measurement range is 0.015 lbf/in to 9.00 lbf/in for the HP-10 tester and 1.5 lbf/in to 90 lbf/in for the top-line HP-1000 model. Recommended for quality-control auditing purposes, the testers can measure the removal torque of fasteners, as well as calibrate tools and measure shear strength or material strength, according to the company.
