Curbell Plastics Inc. (Orchard Park, N.Y.) has added 13 grades of urethane and epoxy tooling boards to its line of products. The Rampf boards have been adopted for use in prototype, tooling, pattern and fixture applications. High-performance RAKU-TOOL tooling boards are said to offer good machining capabilities, strong edge definition, improved chip formation, fine surface structure and ease of sanding. The latter include low-density styling boards (10 lb/ft3 to 29 lb/ft3 or 160 kg/m3 to 464 kg/m3) for styling and design models for determination of fit and function; medium-density modeling boards (34 lb/ft3 to 45 lb/ft3 or 545 kg/m3 to 721 kg/m3) for models and patterns; and high-density work boards (44 lb/ft3 to 106 lb/ft3 or 705 kg/m3 to 1,698 kg/m3) for jigs, fixtures, foundry patterns, core boxes and vacuum forming molds.
