Norplex-Micarta (Postville, Iowa) recently announced the availability of its NP613 high-performance thermoset composite material, which the company says can offer increased structural strength and electrical insulation properties when used to separate and isolate electrical contacts in transformer applications. The product is oil-resistant and provides protection against arcing caused by the input voltage or changes in voltage, preventing transformer failure.
