Axson Technologies’ (Cergy, France) new technologies at JEC Europe 2012 included a reusable silicone bagging concept with an integral heating insert. The vacuum bag or countermold is created by first spraying the company’s SVB 20 silicone material to match the tool. Next, small electrical heating wires are embedded in the material while it cures, offering cost savings by eliminating expendables while targeting mold heating to key areas for complex shapes.
