SANDVIK Coromant (Sandvik, Sweden) has introduced Capto shrink fit adaptors for its CoroGrip and HydroGrip chuck programs. According to the company, the adaptors' slim design makes them suitable for high-speed machining and die/mold manufacturing, particularly in deep/narrow recesses where accessibility is difficult. High retention force and uniform grip around the tool shank reportedly make the shrink fit tool holder useful for safe, repeatable clamping of cutters with cylindrical shanks. Adaptors are available for shank diameters of 6 mm to 32 mm (0.24 inch to 1.26 inches), with the Capto sizes C4, C5 and C6.
