New XTEND 19CMS semipermanent mold release from* Axel Plastics Research Laboratories* (Woodside, N.Y.) is designed to prevent build up of excessive residue that can force production stops for cleaning. Developed for closed molding and difficult release challenges posed by styrene and monomer buildup in tools, this version of XTEND is intended for rotational casting, compression molding, RTM and open molding of parts that are not gel coated or primer gel coated. The solvent-based formulation can be sprayed or wiped on at ambient temperature or up to 72°C/160°F.
