Nonwovens manufacturer Fibertex A/S (Aalborg, Denmark) has introduced its surface fabrics to the U.S. market. The firm’s material, Compoflex, has found use in the wind turbine, racing and boatbuilding industries in Europe, and the company will focus on those end uses in the United State. Compoflex reportedly offers easy release from laminate without the use of coatings on the product and is said to release more than five times easier compared to conventional peel ply, even after the fiber-reinforced plastic (FRP) part is fully hardened. The product is offered in a range of designs to accommodate vacuum bagging, infusion and winding processes, replacing up to three products with one.
