Johns Manville (Bad Homburg, Germany) has introduced StarRov 908 rovings for high-speed pultrusion applications. The rovings have been designed with a package of surface sizings formulated to improve coupling with a variety of resin systems, such as unsaturated polyester, vinyl esters and epoxies. It’s also said to reduce fuzz generation and fiber breaks during pultrusion. The company also has introduced MultiStar 277, roving, designed for use in SMC, which reportedly delivers a Class A surface in automotive exterior parts applications.
