Axel Plastic Research Laboratories (Woodside, N.Y., U.S.A.) introduces MoldWiz INT1945MCH, its proprietary formulation of neutralized organic esters and organic esters that reportedly eliminates release problems in the pultrusion of composite products with polyurethane resin matrices (e.g., the pictured roof rain gutter). According to the company, the acidic lubricants used in many release products can interfere with polyurethane polymerization, particularly in systems that employ tin as a catalyst. The company's neutralized formulation was specifically formulated to avoid impact on crosslinking or cure. It also helps prevent foaming in resin mixing tanks and baths, because it does not interact with the molecular sieves often used as drying agents in polyols.
