Daikin America (Orangeburg, N.Y.) has developed Web 100-40G, a PTFE-based nonwoven fabric for use in composites manufacturing. The fabric reportedly provides an effective barrier against flame, smoke and toxicity. It has no negative impact on the physical properties of the composite structure and parts manufactured using the product easily pass ASTM E162 and E662 as well as BSS 7239 tests, says the company.
