MoldWiz INT33CRS, a new molding process aid additive introduced by Axel Plastic Research Laboratories (Woodside, N.Y.), reportedly improves release of impact-modified TPO, while maintaining paintability and consistent surface gloss on molded parts. Employed in the production of interior and exterior automotive trim panels in a 0.3 percent mixture with 40 percent talc-filled, high-flexural-modulus parts, the additive helped achieve reportedly excellent release. Exterior parts produced with the additive were still easily paintable, the company reports.
