Portable ultrasound imaging camera

Imperium Inc., developer of the Acoustocam portable ultrasound imaging camera, has introduced the Acoustocam I600, which includes the new DAV 6 chip.

Imperium Inc.’s (Silver Spring, Md.) newest Acoustocam portable ultrasound imaging camera, the I600, includes the new DAV 6 chip, an upgraded imaging modality that provides up to five times the image clarity of the previous version. Current customers include Boeing, Airbus, Bell Helicopter, NASA and the U.S. Army, Navy and Air Force. The Acoustocam is used for real-time imaging, during nondestructive detection of defects within composite and metal structures, including impact damage, voids, delaminations, disbonds, corrosion and internal cracks.
