A fully portable, motorized handgun for dispensing two-part epoxies, called the EZ-mix HI dispenser, has been made available by DTIC Dispensing Technologies (S. Lancaster, Mass.). Suitable for insert potting on flame-retardant, lightweight honeycomb aircraft interior panels and interiors of trains, boats and other vehicles, the battery-powered unit dispenses 50-ml dual cartridges of epoxy, without repetitive squeezing and material waste, says the company. It has a variable speed motor, powered by a 7.2V NiMH rechargeable battery, and reportedly is three times faster than using A-paks.
