A new formulation of Ashland Performance Materials’ (Dublin, Ohio) trademarked ENVIREZ unsaturated polyester resin technology, a line introduced in 2002 for use in sheet molding compound (SMC) and since expanded into hand lay up, infusion molding and solid surface applications, now is available for pultrusion applications as well. ENVIREZ 50380 has high reactivity that supports fast line speeds. The product contains recyclate and, when used by manufacturers of composite window lineals and other building products, contributes to U.S. Building Code Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) points under Materials and Resource Credits 4.1 and 4.2.
