In 2011, Rhodia (Lyon, France) will launch, reportedly for the first time, polyamide (PA) powders suitable for small-series direct part manufacturing by selective laser sintering (SLS). PA 6 powders will be released first, followed by PA 6.6 powders. The powders will permit SLS users to prototype and manufacture parts using the same material. Moreover, these polyamides can be used for prototyping and injection molding.
