Airtech International (Huntington Beach, Calif.) has extended its Econostitch peel ply product line with the addition of Econostitch 66 and 5445. All Econostitch nylon peel ply products feature red tracers that make them more visible before and after cure, reducing the possibility that peel ply will be inadvertently left on the part. Econostitch 66, a heat-set and scoured peel ply, is similar to the company’s standard Econostitch, but is made from nylon 6/6, which provides greater strength than the standard nylon products and, therefore, improves removal characteristics. Econostitch 5445, also heat-set and scoured, features a higher thread count and tighter weave and is designed to improve the product’s release characteristics, making it easier to peel off than Airtech’s economy-grade, uncoated peel plies.
