Axel Plastics Research Laboratories Inc.'s (Woodside, N.Y.) MoldWiz 1970JB water-based mold release is formulated to reduce required reapplication from every third part to as seldom as every thirtieth part, depending on the configuration of the mold cavity. It reduces mold pitting and corrosion, and any release residue can be washed from demolded parts with water, says the company. Also new: INT-PUL24, a heat-activated additive that reduces cohesive forces between resin molecules without delaying the required fusion time, is said to improve pultrusion processing by optimizing line speed while reducing both pull force and die wear.
