Gerber Technology (Tolland, Conn.) recently launched the AccuNest Expert Edition (EE), the company’s latest software product for automatically generating costing and production markers that facilitate fast, accurate consumption calculations and promote efficiency in mass-production cutting of fabrics and other flexible materials. The software uses multiple nesting and compaction processors to offer the best possible material yields. It automatically adjusts markers to accommodate fabric width changes, eliminating the need to manually remake markers. The software also floats pieces away from each other automatically after marker optimizations to improve cut, and it detects and corrects overlaps caused by shape or size substitutions.
