According to the company, Renfil can replace fiberglass on a lb-for-lb basis, reducing weight and expense by 10 to 25 percent while increasing product strength. In addition, it reportedly can absorb up to 280 percent of its weight in styrene when mixed into a stryenated polyester resin, thus reducing styrene emissions. The product can be used in a variety of processes, including press molding, hand layup, vacuum bagging, sprayup and pultrusion.
