3D Systems Corp. (Rock Hill, S.C.) has introduced Accura Greystone Material, a nanocomposite material developed for use with the manufacturer’s stereolithography (SLA) prototyping systems. Designed for motorsport and aerospace applications, the material reportedly delivers sufficient accuracy, stiffness, thermal performance and long-term stability for use in these arenas. The grey-colored nanocomposite material was developed for rigorous, high-pressure wind-tunnel testing, under-the-hood automotive applications and other uses that require high thermal resistance, insulative properties and accurate and stable jigs and fixtures. It is said to resist high temperatures and is intended for tooling and other demanding applications.
