Visual Collaboration Technologies Inc. (Troy, Mich.) has released VCollab 2006, a suite of software that reportedly offers the first common platform for viewing and manipulating 3-D digital product design, analysis and manufacturing information authored in different engineering formats. The software enables individuals and groups involved in development of a product to share and interact with complex CAD/CAM/CAE files without having to access the native applications. The suite includes VCollab Pro, scalable, high-performance visualizations software; VCollab Presenter, feature-rich, easy-to-use CAx viewing software; and VMove CAE, a direct, native reader of computer-aided-engineering (CAE) output results that converts native CAE files into highly compressed VCollab.vcb files based on user inputs. vcollab.gocomp.biz/1
