ESI Group (San Diego, Calif., U.S.A.) has launched PAM-RTM 2004, a liquid composite molding (LCM) simulation software package that provides rapid solutions for preliminary design, refined calculations for process and mold optimization, and final design verification. The software is suited for composite manufacturing processes, including resin transfer molding (RTM), vacuum-assisted RTM (VARTM), and vacuum-assisted resin infusion (VARI). The software offers what the company terms "seamless" integration of the solver and pre- and post-processing functions. It is available for PCs (Windows NT, 2000, XP), Unix workstation from IBM and hardware vendors' supported Linux platforms.
