(Leslie, Mich.) has introduced mold release coating 7444, a water-based release agent designed for molding products made from friction materials, such as brakes and clutch plates. The material is said to form a resilient barrier that protects the mold from damage by the abrasive materials. The product exhibits minimal buildup and is formulated for use at mold temperatures of 350°F/177°C and higher when applied using automated spray systems.
