Noran Engineering Inc. (Westminster, Calif.) has released its NEiModeler v9.1 designed to give sophisticated users more advanced tools while easing the new user's entry into the world of finite element analysis (FEA). The new version provides both comprehensive CAD geometry transfer and FEA model creation capabilities in a Windows environment familiar to most users. It will accept all major 3-D CAD files (Solid Edge V18, CATIA V5, SolidWorks, Pro/ENGINEER, AutoCAD Inventor) along with full 3-D model creation analysis, even for those users without 3-D systems, by incorporating the two most widely used and regarded geometry engines, Parasolids and ACIS. For experienced users, new features have been added in meshing, spot weld simulation, customization and automated functions.
