FARO Technologies Inc. (Lake Mary, Fla.) has released a new metrology software program called CAM2 Q. Features include easy changing/conversion between different measurement units or coordinate systems, a customizable user interface, a new reporting engine that creates customized reports in various formats, and simplified programming. The software also enables multiple users to measure with multiple FaroArms and FARO Laser Trackers simultaneously. The system reportedly eliminates the lag time between measuring and reporting, with geometry calculations accurate to within 0.0005 mm (0.00002 inch), and includes market-standard CAD translators and NIST- and PTB-certified fitting routines.
