Thermo Electron Corp. (Karlsruhe, Germany) recently introduced a new measuring system for the polymer industry, which features online quality control for color inspection. It is integrated into the new HAAKE PolyLab Open System (OS) torque rheometer platform, which was introduced to the U.S. market in 2005. The modular unit is designed for polymer process engineering. The system's architecture conforms to an open industry standard, allowing users to connect a number of standardized sensors and systems to it, thus enabling optical, viscosity and spectroscopy measurements.
