Aerospace machining tools manufacturer Dormer Tools Ltd. (Waverley, Sheffield, U.K.) has published a new Aerospace Applications brochure, detailing its offerings for handheld and CNC drilling, milling and cutting of a variety of substrates. Of prime interest to HPC readers are the company’s tailor-made tooling solutions for composite/composite stack materials. Also showcased for toolmaking: An expanded range of carbide cutters for aluminum that cover roughing to finishing. Its S140, S143 and S145 end mills, designed for high-metal-removal operations, feature reinforced end teeth for tough machining. The S142 enables super-finishing operations up to an axial depth four times its diameter, while the S149 end mill (see photo), with its reduced shank diameter, is offered for deep-pocket milling and profiling. Finally, the S540 (ball nose) and S144 (corner radius) cutters are intended for high-speed machining of complex aluminum surfaces.
