Reichhold (Research Triangle Park, N.C.) has introduced two new low-profile additives: POLYLITE 31702-40 is a 40 percent solids PVAC for use in pultrusion processes, developed to enable fabrication of smooth, glossy profiles for applications that demand improved cosmetic properties, such as window lineals, ladder rails and tool handles. POLYLITE 31701-35 is a 35 percent solids polystyrene for compression molding. It can be used by compounders to develop low-shrink SMC/BMC formulations. Applications include SMC residential door skins.
