At the International Cast Polymer Association's Polycon 2003 convention in Dallas, Texas, the Interplastic Corp., Thermoset Resins Division's (St. Paul, Minn., U.S.A.) Gel Coat and Colorant Group announced the availability of Silmar SIL08LH-53 and SIL08LH-56 low-HAP, clear gel coats. The products have maximum 42 percent styrene content and exhibit excellent color, according to the company. Used with a high-quality matrix resin in the cast polymer process, the gel coats reportedly surpass ANSI Z124.3 thermal shock test criteria.
