Low-density, low-CTE tooling board

To its line of epoxy tooling boards, Trelleborg Emerson & Cuming (Mansfield, Mass.) has added TB400, a low-density board that reportedly offers the ability to process epoxy tooling prepregs at a cost lower than previous boards. At a density of 400 kg/cu-m (25 lb/cu-ft), the board provides a low coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE), a high heat-distortion temperature, good dimensional stability and strong machining and finishing characteristics. The product can be laminated and finished using standard epoxy board bonding, sealing and finishing materials. It is available in standard sizes of 5 ft by 2 ft (1.5m by 6m) and thicknesses of 2, 4, 6 or 8 inches (50, 100, 150 or 200 cm).
