Laser Design Inc. (Minneapolis, Minn.) has announced that InnovMetric’s PolyWorks IMAlign plug-in is now available for Laser Design’s line of Faro and Romer portable arm 3-D laser scanners. PolyWorks software is for point cloud digitizing, dimensional analysis, comparison to CAD and reverse engineering applications. For users who have a portable Laser Design scanner with PolyWorks software, the plug-in allows them to scan directly into the PolyWorks software package, providing graphical feedback of the scanning process as data is collected. Real-time feedback enables the user to adjust the scanning speed and approach; it also helps identify areas where the user needs to go back and gather more data.
