Laser Projection Technologies Inc. (Manchester, N.H.) has developed the TLP, a targetless laser projection system, designed for advanced composites, marine and aerospace applications. The system eliminates the need to use cooperative retro-reflective targets on molds and tools used in manufacturing. The system uses a laser projector to scan features of an object and use the data acquired from those features to align the laser projector with the manufacturing tools. The system eliminates the expense of targets, metrology systems and system operator time spent to acquire and evaluate the targets.
