Injection molded composite sheet
Injection molding machine manufacturer ENGEL will exhibit at the K 2010 plastics show in Düsseldorf, Germany a new composite product developed using carbon and glass fiber sheets supplied by Bond Laminates
Injection molding machine manufacturer ENGEL (Schwertberg, Austria) will exhibit at the K 2010 plastics show in Düsseldorf, Germany (Oct. 27 to Nov. 3) a new composite product developed using carbon and glass fiber sheets supplied by Bond Laminates (Brilon, Germany). Designed for use in automotive applications to replace metallic products, organic composite sheets will be produced at the K 2010 show on an ENGEL duo 2050/500 injection molding machine. A polyamide (PA) thermoplastic resin will be injected onto and around sheets of glass or carbon fiber supplied by Bond Laminates. The system also allows for the injection of polypropylene (PP). Tooling for the demonstration product at the show — a steering column — will be provided by moldmaker Siebenwurst (Zwickau, Germany).
