Innegra Technologies (Greenville, S.C.) has introduced the new Innegra H line of fibers, comprised of high-performance olefin yarn co-mingled with other high-performance fibers for composites, including carbon, glass, basalt and aramid. The fiber is designed to increase durability and avoid the shattering effect of current lightweight composites. The new fibers can be used in a variety of processes and in a broad range of applications within several industries. These range from creating lighter weight and impact-resistant sporting equipment to reducing the weight of automotive body parts. Innegra also anticipates interest from the luggage, marine, ballistics and protective apparent industries. Innegra has won a 2013 JEC Americas Innovation Award for the new Innegra H product line.
