Charles Ross and Son Co. (Hauppauge, N.Y.) has developed the X-Series high-shear mixer for production of fine emulsions/dispersions. The mixer includes a rotor-stator generator that creates high shear rates at top speeds up to 17,000 ft/min (almost 5,200 m/min). All wetted parts are typically constructed of type

The mixer includes a rotor-stator generator that creates high shear rates at top speeds up to 17,000 ft/min (almost 5,200 m/min). All wetted parts are typically constructed of type 316-stainless steel and include double mechanical seals. Features include rotor-stator gap adjustment from 0.010 inch to 0.030 inch (0.25 mm to 0.76 mm), a jacketed mix chamber for 50 psig, cored stator for heating or cooling, stainless steel seal barrier tank, a cooling system for bearing housing with type J thermocouple and a 75-hp drive for operation at 5,800 rpm.
