CRG Industries (Dayton, Ohio) has introduced Rec’Repair, a high-performance repair patch made of a shape memory composite material backed with an industrial-strength adhesive. The material is said to be flexible like duct tape and can be used to strengthen or repair fiberglass, metal, plastic, painted surfaces, glass and more. When heated above its activation temperature, Rec’Repair is rubbery and moldable; it can be trimmed, folded, bent and stretched. When cooled, the material is stiff and structural, providing support to the damaged area. Reportedly, the product is water- and weather-resistant, won’t degrade or crumble, requires no curing and contains no chemical irritants or fumes.
