DuoLine Technologies (Odessa, Texas) has developed RiceWrap, a protective wrap of glass fiber/epoxy composite externally applied and bonded to steel pipe. It is recommended for external corrosion prevention on down hole tubing and can be used between injection mandrels and/or packers in multi-zone completions. The nominal thickness is 2.54 mm/0.100 inch, and the working temperature range is -29°C to 121°C (-20°F to 250°F). Tubing also can be internally lined with the material to offer both internal and external corrosion protection.
