General Plastics Manufacturing Co. (Tacoma, Wash.) has introduced LAST-A-FOAM single-component polyurethane-based bonding adhesives for the laminating or bonding of urethane foam sheets and blocks. They are said to offer good results in bonding or laminating foams from 3 lb/ft³ to 20 lb/ft³ density. There are two products in the line: a standard-cure version that develops handling strength in two to four hours and a quick-set version that reaches similar strength in less than one hour. The adhesives expand slightly to fill bondline gaps and cure to a hardness closely matching the surrounding foam material. After full cure, the material can be machined and sanded.
