Noran Engineering Inc. (Westminster, Calif.) has released NEi Nastran V9.1 of its finite element analysis (FEA) package. New features of this version includes Automated Impact Analysis for transient impact studies and drop testing, a Hyperelastic Material Model for simulating large-strain materials, Linear Surface Contact for surface-to-surface contact analysis in a linear static solution, automatic Shell-to-Shell Contact for joining difficult 2-D meshes, automated surface contact and weld generation, 3-D composite solid element, vibration fatigue analysis, 64-bit large model capability and code enhancements for aerospace and maritime users.
