Noran Engineering Inc. (Westminster, Calif.) has released NEi Nastran V9.0 Windows x64, finite element analysis (FEA) software, designed to run on 64-bit Windows operating systems. The software contains a new parallel equation solver technology called Parallel Sparse Solver (PSS), which is designed to exploit 64-bit technology (vs. 32-bit technology). Features include faster solution speeds, large model capability (15 million degrees of freedom), increased efficiency in the use of computing resources and a reduced need for “de-featuring.” The software reportedly can be used for all analysis types.
