Gurit has launched Velinox, a novel modified epoxy prepreg that features fast-cure characteristics and can be stored at temperatures in excess of 35°C/95°F.

Gurit (Newport, Isle of Wight, U.K.) has launched Velinox, a novel modified epoxy prepreg that features fast-cure characteristics and can be stored at temperatures in excess of 35°C/95°F. Reportedly suitable for use in thick sections, such as the spars and roots of wind turbine blades, its cure profile can be modified to eliminate dwell periods, providing greater control of exotherm. It is compatible with glass, carbon and aramid fibers and has a four-month shelf life at 35°C/95°F; it can be stored for more than six months at 20°C/68°F.
