Niagara Cutter (Amherst, N.Y., U.S.A.) has introduced two new CVD diamond-coated end mill series. DiamondGraphite coated, solid carbide end mills are offered in a wide range of diameters, flute designs, and lengths, including extended-reach models. The end mills are designed for carbon composites and green ceramics and have maximum wear resistance with a 0.01 to 1.0 micron grain size coating. The DiamondPlus series features a unique multilayer real diamond coating, designed to extend the tool's life while improving the finish quality in difficult-to-machine hard carbon, metal matrix composites (MMCs), high silicon aluminum, filled composites and plastics.
