Chomerics (Woburn, Mass.), has developed PREMIER, a conductive thermoplastic with a new engineered-filler system that reportedly makes it more effective in injection-molded EMI shielding applications. The proprietary filler blend optimizes materials, dispersion and morphology for enhanced performance (effectiveness to 85dB) and ease of manufacture, the company says. Molded parts do not require secondary machining, plating, painting, etc., reducing cost by 50 percent compared to die castings, formed metal and machined extrusions.
