CARVER Inc.'s (Wabash, Ind.) E-Series presses are the first all-electric compression molding systems designed for round-the-clock production of products from thermoset, thermoplastic and other moldable materials as well as bonding and laminating applications. Their electric drive systems accurately ramp clamp force from 1,000 lb to 30 tons (454 kg to 27 metric tonnes). With a standard temperature range to 343°C/650°F (higher temperatures optional), the fully insulated platens feature cartridge-type heaters and range in size from 12 inches to 24 inches (30 cm to 61 cm) square. According to the company, the presses are clean (no hydraulics) and offer greater precision and reliability than hydraulic presses, making them suitable for cleanroom and laboratory applications.
