Avanzar Composites Systems (Port Townsend, Wash.) has introduced the Infusion 20/2 vacuum system for vacuum infusion and the vacuum bagging of prepreg and hand layups. Based on a 1-hp (12.4-cfm) Becker pump, the system can deliver a regulated vacuum of 25 percent vacuum to 98 percent vacuum (29.3 inches Hg, -14.4
Avanzar Composites Systems (Port Townsend, Wash.) has introduced the Infusion 20/2 vacuum system for vacuum infusion and the vacuum bagging of prepreg and hand layups. Based on a 1-hp (12.4-cfm) Becker pump, the system can deliver a regulated vacuum of 25 percent vacuum to 98 percent vacuum (29.3 inches Hg, -14.4 psi). The system includes an onboard resin trap and vacuum gauge. Vacuum connections can be made via O-ring-sealed glands to accommodate 0.5-inch or 0.75-inch tubing. Powered by a 110V motor, the system, according to the manufacturer, can be used to infuse parts as large as a superyacht hull or multimegawatt wind blade.
